Sky looked quite dark (until the moon started rising)

Tried stacks of M81 with different exposures (0.2s vs 0.5s) and gain (medium vs high) => details only appeared with 0.5s and high.

Observations:

  • M44 (Beehive Cluster) - Cancer (eyepiece) - was able to “see” some of the stars of the constellation, just pointed the scope and was there

  • M81 (Bode’s Galaxy) - Ursa Major (eyepiece then camera)

  • M82 (Cigar Galaxy) - Ursa Major (eyepiece then camera)

  • NGC 2976 (Dwarf Galaxy) - Ursa Major (camera)

  • M97 (Owl Nebula) - Ursa Major (camera - could not stack -  and eyepiece using duo band filter)

  • Failed to see through eyepiece: M108 (Surfboard Galaxy) - Ursa Major
