Started early to observe M42 with the color camera (also clouds were predicted - and showed up - after 9am).
Started using brightness/contrast/saturation sliders: gave great results on nebula but didn’t really improve views of galaxies. Did the same briefly with mono camera (not much difference). Tried color camera without FR.
Observations:
- M42 (Orion Nebula)
- M43 (de Mairan Nebula)
- NGC 2024 (Flame Nebula) - Orion
- M81 (Bode’s Galaxy) - Ursa Major
- M82 (Cigar Galaxy) - Ursa Major
- M51 (Whirlpool Galaxy) - Canes Venatici - could not stack (too low in the sky?)
Unsuccessful observations:
- Could not find/see IC443 (Jellyfish Nebula) or IC444 (reflection Nebula) - Gemini
- Could not find/see NGC 3148 (Galaxy) - Ursa Major
