DSOs galore

Had a good session with an early start.

After the success stacking C15 without focal reducer a few days ago, my plan was to photograph various planetary nebulas without the focal reducer. Without the focal reducer, everything gets harder: locating the DSO, tracking the DSO, getting ASILive to stack (if there are few stars around). Got rather poor result, so went back to using the FR and also observed other DSOs.

Observations:

  • M71 (Globular Cluster) - Sagitta - without FR - not a good picture
  • M27 (Dumbbell Nebula) - Vulpecula - without FR
  • M57 (Ring Nebula) - Lyra - without then with FR - could barely stack without FR
  • C55 (Saturn Nebula) - Aquarius - without then with FR - could not stack without FR
  • C30 (Galaxy) and the Deer Lick Group - Pegasus
  • Stefan's Quintet (Compact Galaxy Group) - Pegasus
  • C63 (Helix Nebula) - Aquarius
  • M52 (Open Cluster) - Cassiopeia
  • C11 (Bubble Nebula) - Cassiopeia
  • C9 (Cave Nebula) - Cepheus
  • NGC 281 (Pacman Nebula) - Cassiopeia
