EAA with the DSO camera

Taking advantage of a cloudless night after a week of foggy or overcast evenings, I took the Dobsonian out for about two hours. I'm back on the ASI294MC camera (with FR). Plate solving was quick and easy and stacking gave okay results (but I had to stay under 3s). Transparency did not look great and the pictures for low targets were very average.

Observations:

  • C57 Barnard's Galaxy - Sagittarius - a tough target to make out
  • NGC 6818 Little Gem Nebula - Sagittarius - too small for details
  • M27 Dumbbell Nebula - Sagitta - nice but the image with the ASI678MC was better
  • M110, M31 and M32 Galaxies - Andromeda
  • C30 Galaxy and Deer Lick Group - Pegasus
  • Stephan Quintet (NGC 7320) - Pegasus
  • C9 Cave Nebula - Cepheus
  • C11 Bubble Nebula - Cassiopeia - a bit smudgy
  • M52 Salt and Pepper Open Cluster - Cassiopeia
  • M33 Triangulum Galaxy - very low to the east so average picture
  • NGC 6939 Ghost Bush Open Cluster - Cepheus
  • C12 Fireworks Galaxy - Cepheus
  • C44 Superman Galaxy - Pegasus
  • C23 Silver Sliver Galaxy - very low and maybe partially behind tree branches so very faint
  • Neptune and Triton
  • M74 Phantom Galaxy - Pisces - very low to the east so average picture
