EAA of some DSOs and Mars

It was another clear night - moonless until very late, so I took out the Dobs + asi294mc + 0.75FR to do some regular EAA.

I could never really get the EQ platform to track properly and had trouble stacking at times (so did some bin2 on some targets).

Overall not very good results.

At the end, I switched cameras and this used the Barlow to image Mars. This time the northern polar ice cap can be seen.

Observations:

  • C56 Skull Nebula - Cetus
  • C62 Needle Eye Galaxy - Cetus
  • C65 Sculptor Galaxy
  • Mel 3 Globular Cluster - Sculptor
  • M33 Triangulum Galaxy
  • M1 Crab Nebula - Taurus
  • M45 Pleiades - Taurus
  • NGC 1579 Northern Trifid Nebula
  • M42 and M43 Great Orion Nebula and de Mairan's Nebula - Orion
  • NGC2024 Flame Nebula - Orion
  • IC 434 Horsehead Nebula - Orion - barely visible on image - but could see it during live stack
  • Mars - northern polar ice cap visible
